SEMINAR on Advancements in Soil Fertility Testing

The International Fertilizer Development Center (IFDC) and Iowa State University (ISU) are sponsoring a seminar on Advances in Soil Fertility Testing. This seminar is coming as prelude to the workshop on Soil Fertility Testing and Mapping for Fertilizer Recommendations for Crops to be held April 11-13, 2017 in Lomé, Togo. Topics to be discussed include:
§ Soil sampling: legacy versus emerging technologies as necessary and ultimate precursor in the soil fertility assessment process.
§ Current technology and innovations in soil analyses for fertility assessment, with special emphasis on the highly weathered soils of the tropics.
§ How soil analytical data are used by farmers, with the support of the extension community, to make financially profitable as well as environmentally friendly fertilizer recommendations.
